Well, I apologize, it's been awhile since I've posted, but not really, because we've been busy! Our work for the Resource Conservation Districts continues along the Russian River and it's tributaries, where we are removing invasive/non-native plants and replacing them with native riparian plants (thanks to all the nurseries who are growing these babies for us). We've got a great residential job going where we've been able to create a beautiful wine barrel water catchment system, and help them out with some drainage issues by creating a bio-swale to redirect, slow, spread and sink excess water, as well as filter it before it reaches the street.
Ukiah Riverside Park is shaping up. All the usual suspects are out there...Himalayan Blackberry, Vinca, Poison Hemlock and it's been our job to knock them out! It's been a battle, but we're winning! The irrigation is in and we're getting prepared for planting season!
But here's the real topper...at the Cloverdale River Park opening dedication ceremony, Baelin was awarded a certificate of appreciation by Sonoma County Regional Parks, California Natural Resources Agency, FEMA, and the Sonoma County Agricultural Preservation and Open Space District for our bioengineering work, as well as our native plant re-vegetation and ongoing maintenance. Great job guys..you rock!!
